Yesterday we decided we wanted a little something different for breakfast and we decided on breakfast biscuits . This is an easy recipe with only a few ingredients.
What You Need
2 Cups flour (plus more for dusting rolling pin and surface)
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Sugar (or sugar substitute)
1/2 Cup unsalted butter (or margarine)
3/4 Cup milk
Large Mixing Bowl
Drinking glass or biscuit cutter
Before You Start: preheat oven to 450 °, lightly flour you rolling pin and cutting board, counter, or clean surface.
Lets Make It! Sift flour, baking powder, sugar and salt into mixing bowl, cut in the butter using a fork or knife ( or put it all into a food processor if you prefer) Until blended ( it will look coarse, like bread crumbs). Add milk into flour mixture gradually, stirring well with a fork until the dough is soft (pulls away from the side of the bowl). Now turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and toss with flour, knead until it is no longer sticky. Using your floured rolling pin roll dough out into a 1/2 inch thick sheet and cut with a floured glass, biscuit, or cookie cutter. Place biscuits about ½ inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet and bake until golden brown ( about 10 minutes.)
